Ant Bite Emergency

Most ant bites cause minor irritation, but fire ant attacks can cause serious reactions, especially with multiple bites.

Signs & Symptoms
  • Sudden distress and pawing at affected area
  • Small red bumps or welts
  • Localized swelling
  • Intense itching
  • FIRE ANT attack signs:
  • - Multiple painful pustules
  • - Severe swelling
  • - Allergic reaction symptoms
  • - Vomiting or weakness (severe cases)
What To Do
  1. 1Move your pet away from the ant mound/area immediately
  2. 2Brush off any remaining ants (wear gloves if possible)
  3. 3Rinse affected area with cool water
  4. 4Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling
  5. 5For fire ants: clean area and apply antiseptic
  6. 6Monitor for allergic reaction signs
